Ingredients to make Chhana bhaja/fried chhana in sugar syrup

  • 1litre Milk
  • sugar as required
  • maida 1 cup
  • ghee 5/6 tbspn
  • cardamom powder 1 tspn
  • Khhoya for garnishing

How to make Chhana bhaja/fried chhana in sugar syrup

  1. Take 1litre whole milk in a pan and when the milk comes to a boil add lemon juice and stir very well,as soon as the milk curdles pour the curdled milk in a muslin cloth. Then wash the chhana in running water.squeeze properly. In a bowl mix chhana,powdered sugar,maida,cardamom powdered sugar and kneed properly until smooth
  2. Grease a tray with ghee
  3. Put the mixture on the tray and level it with a back of a spoon.
  4. Then cut it in square shape
  5. Heat ghee in a pan
  6. Deep fry those squares on slow flame until deep brown
  7. In the meantime make sugar syrup
  8. Remove the squares with a slotted spoon and put them in the sugar syrup
  9. Allow to cool in room temperature
  10. Garnish those soft squares with grated khhoya on top.

My Tip:

Kneeding process is very important..so,continue kneeding until smooth.
