Ingredients to make Brown onion cashew peas pulav

  • Basmati rice 2 cups
  • onion thinly sliced 1 1/2 cups
  • Green peas 1/2 cup
  • cashew 1/2 cup
  • salt as per taste
  • Refined or desi ghee 4 tbsp
  • cumins seeds 2 tsp
  • cloves 4
  • bay leaves 2
  • Big cardamom 2
  • cinnamon 1 inch

How to make Brown onion cashew peas pulav

  1. Soak rice for 40 mins.
  2. Heat oil in a pressure cooker.
  3. Add cashews, Fry for 2 mins and remove.
  4. Add cumin, cardamom, cloves, bay leaves and cinnamon stick.
  5. Fry for 30 secs, add onion, fry till brown.
  6. Remove 1 tbsp onion for garnishing.
  7. Add peas and fry for 2 mins.
  8. Add soaked rice, salt and fry cashew.
  9. Fry for 1 min, Add 3 cups of water and give one whistle.
  10. Garnish with brown onion and cashew, serve hot with raita or curry.

My Tip:

Add accurate water that it came out so well...nt sticky.
