Pasta in white sauce

Ingredients to make Pasta in white sauce

  • all purpose flour(maida) 2 tbsp
  • Milk 250 ml
  • butter 4 tbsp
  • garlic 4 pods
  • onion 3 medium sized
  • Pasta 250 gms
  • bay leaf 2 nos
  • cloves 3-4
  • pepper powder
  • salt
  • mushroom 1 cup
  • Fresh cream 1/4 cup
  • Black olives 5 nos

How to make Pasta in white sauce

  1. In a pan melt butter and to it add the all purpose flour. Simmer the heat and stir the mixture till it attains sandy texture.
  2. Take one onion and cut it into half. Stud the bay leaf onto the onion using cloves.
  3. In a pan add milk, studded onion, finely grated garlic and bring it to boil.
  4. Now add this milk to the cooled butter - flour mixture. Ensure that no lumps are formed.
  5. Keep sturring this mixture over low flame. The mixture now starts to thicken. To this add pepper powder, oregano and salt. The white sause in now ready.
  6. Ensure that the white sause is of right consistency. In case the sause is thick you can add more milk. In case the sause is watery and loose add cornflower or corn starch to thicken it.
  7. Add fresh cream and butter to the prepared sause.
  8. Cook pasta as per instruction on packet. Else, boil water with 1 tbsp salt. Add the pasta and cook it for 7 mins. Use few drops of oil to prevent pasta from forming a lump.
  9. In a thick bottomed pan, add a little oil. Add onions and saute till golden brown. Add chopped mushroom, salt and pepper. Mix thoroughly. To this mixture, add cooked pasta. Simmer for 5 mins.
  10. Enjoy the creamy pasta in white sause by mixing the sause and pasta. Add chopped olives and oregano on top for presentation.
  11. Pasta tastes best with garlic bread.

My Tip:

You can create your own pasta in white sause by adding corn kernels, chicken chunks etc instead of mushroom. Olives too can be added for extra taste.
