Ingredients to make Sweet and spicy tomato and dates chutney

  • tomatoes
  • dates. (Seeds removed)
  • sugar 2 cups
  • Kali namak (black salt) half tablespoon
  • jaggery (gur) anyone of your choise
  • tej patta 2 pcs
  • Panch phoran 1 tablespoon
  • Mangraila 1 tablespoon
  • Dry red chilly 2 pcs
  • oil

How to make Sweet and spicy tomato and dates chutney

  1. Cut the tomatoes into small cube
  2. Remove the seeds from dates
  3. Take a wok. Add oil then add panch phoran, Mangraila, dry red chilly, tej patta.
  4. Stir it still smoky and light brown in colour
  5. Add the cube tomatoes and dates
  6. Add in the sugar, Jaggery and salt
  7. Cover it and cook in a high flame
  8. Add more sugar after checking if u want more sweet. Or you can add more dry red chilly if u want spicy in the time of frying.
  9. Your chutney is ready. Put all in a container after it gets cools down. And enjoy when ever u like to eat.

My Tip:

You can add some aamsat. (I personally dont know whats the name of it in english) You can add some cashew. U can add both while putting the tomatoes dates and with other ingredients.
