Ingredients to make Slow Cooker Brown Rice Jaggery Kheer

  • Brown rice - 1/2 cup
  • Milk - 4 cups
  • jaggery - 1/2 cup, grated
  • cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp
  • almonds - 10
  • cashewnuts - 10
  • raisins - 12
  • Dried rose petals - a few

How to make Slow Cooker Brown Rice Jaggery Kheer

  1. Place all ingredients in a slow cooker pot. Stir, close the lid and turn it ON on HIGH setting for 4 hours.
  2. If you like the kheer to be more thickened, crack open the lid and cook for 20 more minutes.
  3. Serve in festive glasses or bowls garnished with nuts, raisins and dried rose petals for a festive look.

My Tip:

This recipe can be made with white kheer rice and sugar. But the brown rice and jaggery adds a ton of flavor and gives a rustic deliciousness to the kheer.
