Pepper Rasam

Ingredients to make Pepper Rasam

  • pepper Corn:- 3 tbsp
  • Cummin Seeds:- 1 1/2 tbsp
  • garlic:- 7-8 cloves
  • Coarsely ground all above ingredients and set aside
  • tomato:- 3 grind to paste
  • curry leaves
  • coriander leaves
  • coriander powder:- 1 tsp
  • turmeric powder:- 1/2 tsp
  • chilli Powder:- 1/2 tsp
  • hing:- 1 tsp
  • oil as required
  • mustard seeds :- 1 tsp
  • methi Seeds :- 1/2 tsp
  • methi Powder :- 1/2tsp
  • salt to paste
  • jaggery :- Optional
  • tamarind Juice:- 1 big lemon size tamaraind soak in water and take out the pump

How to make Pepper Rasam

  1. Heat oil add mustard seeds allow it to splutter, add methi seeds, curry leaves and ground masala stir for sometime.
  2. Add tomato paste and fry until the raw smell of tomato goes off.Add all powdered masala except methi powder and fry for sometime.
  3. Add tamarind juice, salt and water allow it boil for 6-7 mins
  4. Add coriander leaves and methi powder cover with lids for 5 mins and switch off the flame.
  5. Serve hot with rice or just have like soup
