Channa dal and Methi Roti

Ingredients to make Channa dal and Methi Roti

  • For the roti: Maida 1kg
  • Milk 200 ml
  • Salt 20gm
  • Sugar 100gm
  • Desi ghee 300 gm
  • Water 300 to 350ml
  • Suji 150 gm
  • Stuffing : Boiled Channa 250 gms
  • One Pinch crushed Black pepper
  • Salt per taste
  • 1 tbs methi leaves
  • 1 tsp Jeera
  • 1 whole dried chilli chopped
  • ½ tsp yellow chilli

How to make Channa dal and Methi Roti

  1. For dough : Mix all the ingredients and knead the dough and let it rest.
  2. For stuffing: Mash the cooked dal and mix spices and seasoning
  3. Heat an iron tawa and leave it on a slow flame.
  4. Prepare 2, 60 gm of dough balls and flatten them using your hands. Now stuff the dal stuffing on the flatten dough and cover it with the other piece.
  5. Now lay the rolled out roti flat on the iron tandoor. Cook it evenly on both sides
  6. Once it attains a golden brown color add ghee and let it smoke and cook once again both sides until it gets golden brown.
My Tip: Suggest serving it with gatta curry or arbi ka jhol
