ABOUT Mawa Cake RECIPE

A delicous Indian Cake inspired my love for Gulab jamun!!! A festive Cake that is easy to bake!

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. All Purpose Flour 200gms or 1 1/4 Cup
  2. ghee 1/4 Cup
  3. condensed milk 100 ml or 1/2 Cup
  4. Khoya 100gms or 1/2 Cup
  5. baking powder 1 teaspoon
  6. baking soda - a pinch
  7. dry fruits/tutty fruits -1 tablespoon (optional)
  8. cardamom powder 1/4 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. In a bowl whisk condensed milk, crumbled khoya and ghee. Keep it aside.
  2. In another bowl Sieve the baking powder, flour, baking soda, cardamom powder.
  3. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and gently fold them together. Add tutti fruity or nuts and fold again.
  4. Grease a baking pan and pour the batter. Tap to remove any air bubbles.
  5. Bake the cake in a preheated oven at 180 degree centigrade for 25 minutes.
  6. Insert a toothpick in the center to check whether it is done.
  7. Cool on a rack for 10 minutes before you slice this soft spongy delicious cake.

Hi, am trying this one.. The mixture is very dry... Like how we knead a dough .. Is that OK... Can I bake it?
