Stuffed Bread Dahi Vadas

Ingredients to make Stuffed Bread Dahi Vadas

  • For the outer covering:
  • 8 slices of bread, cut in roundel shapes
  • water as required to seal the vadas
  • For the stuffing:
  • 4 tbsp freshly grated coconut
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped coriander leaves
  • 1 tsp finely chopped green chillies
  • 1 tsp finely chopped ginger
  • 1 tbsp chopped mixed dry nuts like kaju/ kishmish, cashews/raisins
  • A pinch of salt
  • For the curd:
  • 2 cups of well blended curd
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • salt to taste
  • A pinch of black salt
  • For garnishing:
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp jeera/ cumin powder
  • Some chopped coriander leaves

How to make Stuffed Bread Dahi Vadas

  1. Take four bread roundels and arrange them on a serving plate.
  2. Now in a bowl, mix all the stuffing ingredients together with the help of a spoon.
  3. Now divide the stuffing into four portions, put one portion of the stuffing in the center of one bread roundel. Similarly fill all the bread roundels.
  4. Now apply some water on the outer circle of the roundels with your fingers. (Just soak it a little only.) In the same manner, soak the sides of the other roundels and place them on top of each roundle.
  5. Seal the sides nicely but gently with your fingers so that the stuffing doesn't come out.
  6. Now prepare the curd mixture by mixing it together with curd, sugar, salt and black salt. Then mix it nicely. Pour this curd mixture on top of the vadas.
  7. Sprinkle some red chilli powder and jeera powder on top. Garnish it with chopped coriander leaves.

My Tip:

You can use any type of stuffing such as soaked and chopped peanuts, dried apricots, etc. You can prepare the vadas before hand as well, but pour the curd only 30 minutes before.
