ABOUT Spicy Basil Chicken RECIPE

A fusion between Chinese and Italian herbs to give this dish a delicious twist.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Boneless Chicken 500 gm
  2. Egg 1
  3. Corn flour 3 tbsp
  4. Salt and Pepper as per taste
  5. Red chilli paste 2 tsp
  6. Red chilli sauce 1 tsp
  7. Soya sauce 2 tsp
  8. Tomato ketchup 2 tsp
  9. Vinegar 1 tsp
  10. Sugar 1 tsp
  11. Dry basil leaves 1 tbsp
  12. Spring onions 1/4 cup
  13. Chopped ginger and garlic 1 tsp
  14. Dry red chilli - 1
  15. Refined oil- as required

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken pieces with the egg, corn flour, salt, pepper for at least 1 hour. Then deep fry them in refined oil and keep aside.
  2. Make a mixture of the red chilli paste, red chilli sauce, soy sauce, vinegar, salt and sugar together.
  3. Now in a pan, heat some oil, then add in the chopped ginger and garlic followed by the chopped spring onions.
  4. Next, pour in the sauce mixture and saute on a high flame, then add in the fried chicken. Next, add in the basil leaves and stir for a minute.
  5. Serve it hot.
