ABOUT Tadkedar Tamater (Tomatoes) ki Chutney RECIPE

Tangy tadka or baghare tomatoes made into a soft chutney to accompany your parathas, dal, rice or even kebabs. A 2 minute wonder!

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. 6 medium sized sour tomatoes
  2. 2 whole pods of garlic
  3. Few curry leaves
  4. 2-3 green chillies semi-hot (optional)
  5. Salt to taste
  6. 1 tbsp chaat masala
  7. 1 tbsp kashmiri chilli crushed or powder
  8. A few coriander leaves
  9. 1 tbsp olive oil or any light refined cooking oil

Instructions

  1. Wash and chop your tomatoes quickly into small quarter shapes.
  2. Heat the oil on a high flame in a pressure cooker.
  3. Then add in the mustard seeds, curry leaves, chopped green chillies and let it splutter. Then lower the heat.
  4. Add in the peeled garlic, chopped tomatoes and randomly crush it while cooking. Next add salt, crushed red chilli and chaat masala into the chopped tomatoes. Mix it well and cook.
  5. Cover with a pressure lid, without the whistle and let it cook.
  6. Once cooked, remove and mix it well. Serve it with a garnish of coriander leaves.
