Spicy Chicken Balls

Ingredients to make Spicy Chicken Balls

  • 300 gm boneless chicken, minced
  • 1 carrot finely chopped
  • A small bunch of spring onion
  • 1/2 egg with yolk
  • 5-6 garlic cloves finely chopped
  • 1 inch ginger piece finely chopped
  • 2 dry red chillies
  • 1 tsp spicy red chilli sauce
  • 1 tsp soya sauce
  • 1 tsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp cornflour
  • 2 tsp oil
  • salt to taste
  • Water as required to boil the chicken balls

How to make Spicy Chicken Balls

  1. Wash the minced chicken and allow it to get a little dry.
  2. Take a large bowl. Add in the 1/2 egg, chopped carrot, chopped spring onion, coriander leave and salt. Mix these ingredients together nicely.
  3. In a pot pour in 1000 ml oil and allow it to boil. Now dip your palm in water, take 1 tsp of the chicken mixture and make round shaped balls with it. Allow it to cook for 10 minutes and stir them occasionally. Then take them out in a plate.
  4. In a separate frying pan, add oil to heat. Now add in the garlic, ginger and chopped dry red chilli. Stir till the rawness of the ginger and garlic fades away.
  5. Now add in the red chilli sauce, soy sauce and oyster sauce. Make a cornflour paste and add this paste in the pan. Now pour in some water with salt. Once the sauce thickens, add in the chicken balls and cook for 2 more minutes.
  6. Pour in a serving plate with a garnish of finely chopped spring onions.
