Apple Toffee

Ingredients to make Apple Toffee

  • apple- 1 no
  • cinnamon powder 1/2 teaspoon
  • sugar- 1 cup
  • maida/ Flour - 1/2 cup
  • Cornflour- 3 tablespoon
  • Baking powder- 1/2 teaspoon
  • oil to fry
  • Ice- 1 bowl
  • water- 100 ml

How to make Apple Toffee

  1. Peel the apple and cut it into medium dices.
  2. Prepare a thick batter of maida, cornflour, baking powder and a little water.
  3. In a pan heat oil for frying. Put the diced apple in a thick batter and deep fry until it's golden brown in colour.
  4. Separately, take a pan, put 1 cup of sugar and cook to make a caramel. Then add cinnamon powder in it.
  5. Take the fried apples out once they become golden brown in colour. Transfer these fried apple into the caramel and coat it well.
  6. In a bowl put a glass of water and a bowl of ice. Immediately, transfer the caramelized apple into the ice water for 10-15 seconds. The apple pieces will become hard like toffee.
  7. Dust with icing sugar and serve.
