Honey Chilli Crispy Chicken

Ingredients to make Honey Chilli Crispy Chicken

  • chicken boneless 1/2 kg
  • egg 1
  • 1 tsp each of star anise, cloves, cinnamon stick, fennel seeds, black pepper, all roasted and grounded (5 spice powder)
  • cornflour 3 tbsp
  • salt as per taste
  • red chilli paste 1 tbsp
  • oil for frying
  • garlic finely cut 2 tsp
  • sesame seeds to sprinkle 1 tbsp
  • Dried red chillies 3 to 4
  • Soya sauce 1 tsp
  • honey 1 tbsp
  • Green onion leaves 2 tbsp, finely cut

How to make Honey Chilli Crispy Chicken

  1. First of all, cut the chicken into thin thread pieces.
  2. In a pan, roast the sesame seeds and keep it aside.
  3. Marinate the chicken with the egg, cornflour, salt, red chilli paste and five spice powder.
  4. Fry the chicken in hot oil till it's crispy. Then remove and keep them aside.
  5. In a wok, heat some oil, then add the chopped garlic, dry red chilli, soya sauce ,honey, red chilli paste, light soya sauce and a bit of five spice powder and salt.
  6. Finally add the chicken and vinegar, finish it off with sesame seeds and green onion leaves.
