ABOUT Whole Pomfret in Chilli Sauce RECIPE

A spicy sichuan style pomfret.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Pomfret- 1
  2. Oil to fry
  3. Red chilli paste- 10 gm
  4. Garlic- 5 cloves
  5. Water- 150 ml
  6. Soya Sauce- 15 ml
  7. Salt to taste
  8. Sugar- 1/2 tablespoon
  9. Cornflour- 2 tablespoon
  10. Vinegar- 1 tablespoon
  11. Spring onion 15 gm

Instructions

  1. Clean and wash the pomfret. Then make slits on the body of the pomfret fish.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and deep fry the whole fish over high heat until it's almost done.
  3. In another pan, heat 2 tablespoon of oil, then add in the garlic and saute. Next, add in the red chilli paste, pour in water, soya sauce, salt and sugar. Then bring it to a boil.
  4. Now add in the fried fish and simmer the flame for a minute.
  5. In a bowl, mix the cornflour with a little water and add it in the pan to thicken the gravy.
  6. Now add in the vinegar and spring onion. Stir it gently.
  7. Arrange fish on a platter, then pour this sauce over the fish and serve it with rice.
