Whole Pomfret in Chilli Sauce

Ingredients to make Whole Pomfret in Chilli Sauce

  • Pomfret- 1
  • oil to fry
  • red chilli paste- 10 gm
  • garlic- 5 cloves
  • water- 150 ml
  • Soya Sauce- 15 ml
  • salt to taste
  • sugar- 1/2 tablespoon
  • cornflour- 2 tablespoon
  • vinegar- 1 tablespoon
  • spring onion 15 gm

How to make Whole Pomfret in Chilli Sauce

  1. Clean and wash the pomfret. Then make slits on the body of the pomfret fish.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and deep fry the whole fish over high heat until it's almost done.
  3. In another pan, heat 2 tablespoon of oil, then add in the garlic and saute. Next, add in the red chilli paste, pour in water, soya sauce, salt and sugar. Then bring it to a boil.
  4. Now add in the fried fish and simmer the flame for a minute.
  5. In a bowl, mix the cornflour with a little water and add it in the pan to thicken the gravy.
  6. Now add in the vinegar and spring onion. Stir it gently.
  7. Arrange fish on a platter, then pour this sauce over the fish and serve it with rice.
