Panchratna Oats ka Khichidi

Ingredients to make Panchratna Oats ka Khichidi

  • 1 cup oats
  • 1 tbsp ghee
  • 1 tbsp channe ki dal
  • 1 tbsp sambar dal
  • 1 tbsp yellow moong dal
  • 1 tbsp green moong dal
  • 1 tbsp masoor dal
  • 1 tbsp jeera
  • salt according to taste
  • 5-6 curry leaves
  • A pinch of turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp ginger paste
  • 1/2 tsp black peppercorns
  • 1 carrot chopped
  • 2-3 beans chopped
  • 1/2 cup peas
  • Few leaves of spinach, chopped
  • Ingredients for coriander Aloo/Potato:
  • oil for frying
  • 4-5 potatoes cut long slices
  • salt to taste
  • A pinch of turmeric powder
  • 1 cup of chopped coriander and curry leaves
  • A pinch of dhaniya/ coriander powder
  • A pinch of amchoor powder

How to make Panchratna Oats ka Khichidi

  1. In a cooker, heat ghee, then fry in the jeera, curry leaves, peppercorns and ginger paste. Once the seeds crackle, add in the vegetables and fry it for a while.
  2. Next add in all the 5 dals along with the oats, chopped palak and mix it well together. Add a pinch of turmeric powder and stir well.
  3. Pour in water and add in salt, then pressure cook it till 4 whistles blow.
  4. To prepare the aloo masala, deep fry the potatoes first. Keep them aside.
  5. Then in a kadai, heat oil, fry in the jeera, curry leaves and coriander together.
  6. Next, add a pinch of turmeric powder, amchoor powder, dhanya powder, salt and mix it well.
  7. Then add in the potatoes and mix it all together.

My Tip:

Instead of oats you can add rice and muesli.
