Chinese Bhel

Ingredients to make Chinese Bhel

  • For the schezuan sauce:
  • 2/3 cup oil
  • 1/3 cup chopped celery
  • 1/3 cup chopped garlic
  • 1/3 cup chopped ginger
  • 2/3 cup tomato puree
  • 3/4 cup red chilli paste
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 and 1/2 tsp vinegar
  • 2 and 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 5 cups fried noodles
  • 2/3 cup chopped spring onion
  • 2/3 cup shredded cabbage
  • 1/2 cup grated carrot
  • 1/3 cup thinly sliced capsicum
  • 1/2 cup tomato ketchup
  • 1/2 cup schezuan sauce (recipe above)
  • Salt to taste

How to make Chinese Bhel

  1. To prepare the schezuan sauce, heat the oil in pan, then add in the celery, garlic and ginger. Mix well and saute on a medium flame for 30 seconds.
  2. Add in the tomato puree and mix it well, cook on a medium flame for 5 minutes.
  3. Then add in the salt, vinegar, sugar and cook for another minute.
  4. To make the bhel, combine the rest of the ingredients in a bowl and toss it well till the noodles are evenly coated with the sauces.
  5. Serve it immediately.
My Tip: Serve it immediately for a crispy and crunchy dish.
