Chicken Sweet & Sour

Ingredients to make Chicken Sweet & Sour

  • Boneless cube chicken (par boiled)- 1 cup
  • Diced pineapple- 1 cup
  • Red & yellow peppers (diced)- 1/2 cup
  • Green bell peppers (diced)- 1/2 cup
  • onions (diced) - 1/2 cup
  • carrots (diced)- 1/2 cup
  • Beans- 1/2 cup
  • Chopped garlic- 1 tbsp
  • tomato sauce- 1/2 cup
  • Soy sauce- 1/4 th cup
  • sugar- 1.5 tsp
  • chicken stock- 1.5 cup
  • vinegar- 1/4th cup
  • cornflour- 1 tbsp
  • maida 1/2 cup
  • egg- 1

How to make Chicken Sweet & Sour

  1. Make a batter with the maida, egg, salt together in a bowl.
  2. Dip the chicken pieces in this batter and deep fry them in hot oil. Keep it aside.
  3. Heat a little oil in a kadhai, add in the chopped garlic and chillies. Then add in the carrots and beans. Stir well, then add in the pineapple pieces and salt.
  4. Next add the rest of the vegetables and stir. Cook till it's done but is a little crunchy as well.
  5. Make a paste of all the sauces in a bowl and add it to the vegetables in the kadhai. Pour in the chicken stock and bring it to a boil.
  6. Now dissolve the cornflour in water and add it to the above stock.
  7. Once it thickens, finally add in the fried chicken and serve.
