ABOUT Spaghetti Bolognese RECIPE

A classic Italian dish for meat and pasta lovers!

Ingredients Serving: 7

  1. Spaghetti 500 gm
  2. Beef mince 250 gm
  3. Pork mince 250 gm
  4. Onion finely chopped 1 big size
  5. Carrot finely chopped 1 medium size
  6. Celery finely chopped 1 stalk
  7. Garlic finely chopped 6-7 nos
  8. Tomato 4 large size, without the skin and seed, crushed
  9. Olive oil 3-4 tbsp
  10. Basil leaves 5-6 nos
  11. Dry oregano 1/2 tsp
  12. Bay leaf 2
  13. Water as required
  14. Salt and pepper to taste
  15. Wine 1 cup
  16. Tomato paste 2 tbsp
  17. Worcestershire sauce 3 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Heat oil, then add in the minced meat and saute for 4-5 minutes while breaking all the lumps on a medium-high heat. Then keep it aside.
  2. To the remaining oil, add in the onion, carrot, celery and garlic. Saute until the colour changes slightly.
  3. Now add in the tomato paste, herbs, meat, tomatoes and saute for 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add wine on a high heat and reduce it. Then add in the worcestershire sauce, water and simmer for 35-45 minutes on a low heat to infuse all the flavours in the sauce.
  5. Boil the pasta in salt water till it's al dente as per the package instructions. Then drain it well and add it to the sauce. Adjust the seasoning as per taste.
  6. Garnish with grated parmesan cheese and basil. Serve it hot.
