Phodnicha Bhaat

Ingredients to make Phodnicha Bhaat

  • Cooked rice 2 cups
  • mustard seeds 1 and 1/2 tsp
  • cumin seeds 1 tsp
  • curry leaves 8 to 9 leaves
  • onion 1/2 cup finely chopped
  • oil 1 tbsp
  • salt to taste
  • lemon Juice 2 tsp
  • coriander leaves for garnishing

How to make Phodnicha Bhaat

  1. Heat oil in the kadai. Once the oil is hot, add in the mustard seeds and cumin seeds. Let them pop up.
  2. Now add in the curry leaves, they will instantly crackle. Next add in the onion and green chillies, saute it for about a minute.
  3. Add salt and saute roughly. Now add in the cooked/ leftover rice and mix it very nicely. Then add the lemon juice and mix it again.
  4. Cover the kadai with a lid for 2 to 3 minutes and cook on a low flame.
  5. Remove the lid and garnish it with fresh coriander. Serve it hot.
