ABOUT Chilli Paneer (Semi Dry) RECIPE

Many of us love Indo- Chinese flavors. The most common ones are Manchurian, Noodles, Stir Fried Veggies, Chinese Fried rice to name a few. Chilli Paneer is usually served as a starter along with your Indo-Chinese menu. Alternately you can serve this semi gravy as a side dish along with fried rice or noodles. I like both dry and semi gravy versions.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 cup paneer cubes
  2. 1 Red Bell Pepper cubed
  3. 1 Yellow Bell Pepper cubed
  4. 1 onion chopped
  5. 3 Green Chillies Slit lengthwise
  6. 2 tbsp corn flour
  7. 2 tbsp Soya sauce
  8. 2 tsp rice vinegar
  9. 1 tbsp Hot Chilli Sauce( I have used Ching's Brand)
  10. A pinch of salt
  11. 1 tsp pepper powder
  12. 1 tsp roasted sesame seeds
  13. 1 inch Ginger finely chopped
  14. 6 Garlic pods crushed

Instructions

  1. Make a paste of corn flour, salt, pepper powder and keep it aside. Heat a heavy bottom pan. Add 2 tsp of oil and shallow fry the paneer cubes. Once done, remove them from the pan and place them on a kitchen towel to drain excess oil if any.
  2. In the same pan, add a tsp of oil to heat. Then add in the chopped chillies, ginger and crushed garlic. Saute on a high heat for about a minute. Then add in the onions and saute for 2 mins.
  3. The onions should be undercooked. Now add in the bell peppers and saute on a high heat for about 2 mins. Then add in the vinegar, soya sauce, chilli sauce and mix it well.
  4. Add in the shallow fried paneer, the corn flour paste and mix it well. Turn off the flame after 2 mins. (Ensure the onions and bell peppers are crunchy.)
  5. Garnish with the roasted sesame seeds and finely chopped chillies. Serve it with fried rice or noodles.
