Methi Ki Daal

Ingredients to make Methi Ki Daal

  • fenugreek leaves 1 small bunch
  • 2 onions finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes finely chopped
  • 4 cloves of garlic finely chopped
  • 2-3 green chillies finely chopped
  • cumin seeds 1 tsp
  • 3/4 bowl tuwar daal
  • 1/4 bowl moong daal
  • 1/4 bowl urad daal
  • 1/2 Cup chana Daal
  • 2 spoons gram flour
  • salt as per taste

How to make Methi Ki Daal

  1. At first wash all of the daal together. Then add in the water, salt, red chilli powder and pressure cook it till 2 whistles blow. Then simmer the gas and cook till 1 more whistle blows. Keep the dal aside.
  2. Now in a deep bottomed pan pour in oil, once the oil is hot, add in the cumin seeds and garlic. Saute it well, then add in the onions and saute till it's light brown in colour.
  3. Now add in the green chillies and gram flour, roast it till the raw smell goes away on a low flame.
  4. Next add in the fenugreek leaves, tomatoes and salt. Cover the lid and allow it to cook. Now add in the garam masala, chilli powder and dried mango powder.
  5. Next put in the cooked dal into this mixture and pour in a little water if required. Let it simmer and cook for 5-8 minutes.
  6. Serve it hot along with rice.
