Eggless Donuts

Ingredients to make Eggless Donuts

  • 2 cups maida
  • 3/4 cup lukewarm milk
  • 1/4 cup butter at room temperature
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon dry active yeast
  • oil for frying
  • Dark and white chocolate for dipping and coating
  • walnuts or sprinkles or coconut for decoration

How to make Eggless Donuts

  1. Take the maida in a mixing bowl and add in the salt, sugar, yeast, butter and mix it well.
  2. Slowly add in the lukewarm milk and bind them together to make it into a soft pliable dough. Keep working on the dough until it's soft and neat.
  3. Roll the dough into 1/2 cm thickness and cut them into donut shapes. You can make bite sized ones or regular sizes. Arrange in a tray and keep some space between the two as they ferment and puff up in size.
  4. Brush some milk on top of the donuts to avoid the cracks or getting dry. Let it rest covered for 1 and 1/2 hrs to puff up.
  5. Heat oil and fry these roundels on a medium heat until they are golden in colour.
  6. Dip in melted chocolate and add in the sprinkles, desiccated coconut or plain simple nutella.
