Schezwan Sausages

Ingredients to make Schezwan Sausages

  • To fry the sausages:
  • 1 levelled tbsp each of corn flour and maida/ refined flour
  • 1/2 tsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 egg
  • salt as per taste
  • 1/2 tsp chilli powder
  • For the gravy:
  • chicken Sausages 5 (Big)
  • onions 5 diced
  • capsicum 1 diced
  • ginger-Garlic chopped 1 tbsp
  • Soy sauce 1/2 tsp
  • chilli powder 1 tsp
  • Schezwan sauce 2 tbsp
  • Corn flour 1 tsp
  • salt as per taste
  • tomato sauce 2 tsp
  • Celery 1
  • spring onion 3 tbsp

How to make Schezwan Sausages

  1. Cut the sausages into small pieces. Then coat it with the frying ingredients and fry them for a few minutes till they rise but are not so crispy.
  2. To make the gravy, you can use the same oil. Heat oil in a pan, then add in the ginger, garlic and saute, then add in the capsicum and fry for a few seconds.
  3. Then put in the onion and celery along with the fried sausages, now add in the chilli powder, soy sauce, tomato sauce, schezwan sauce, a little sugar and mix well till the veg is cooked.
  4. Next add 1 tsp of cornflour dissolved in water, add this to the gravy. When the gravy thickens, remove it and add the chopped spring onion.
  5. If you want more gravy, you can add more corn flour with water. Adjust the sauces, salt and sugar according to your taste.

My Tip:

Cut the sausages into small pieces as it will become bigger in size when fried. Adjust the seasoning according to your taste.
