ABOUT Nasi Goreng Telur Indonesian/ Fried Rice with Egg RECIPE

When we moved in to Indonesian my maid would cook this for me, I used to eat this almost everyday. I learnt this recipe from her. It had become my staple food while in Indonesia. You will get this in almost every street of Jakarta all making it in their own style but this one I just love it.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 cup boiled rice
  2. 5 pieces of mushroom
  3. 10 gms cabbage
  4. 5 gms cauliflower, cut into very small size
  5. 4 tbsp oil
  6. 1/2 teaspoon soya sauce
  7. 1/2 tomato, thinly sliced
  8. 1 big chilli
  9. 3 shallots thinly sliced
  10. 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
  11. 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
  12. 1 small bowl of lettuce, thinly sliced

Instructions

  1. In a pan, add oil, after it's heated add in the garlic, chilli, shallots and cauliflower. Cover the lid and let it cook for about 5 minutes on a low flame.
  2. Open the lid and check if the cauliflower is cooked 50% then add in the cabbage and tomato. Saute it for about 3 more minutes.
  3. Add mushrooms and lettuce with salt, soya sauce and red chilli powder. Saute it for another 2 minutes on a low flame.
  4. Next add in the boiled rice and mix it well.
  5. Serve it with cucumber, carrots and lettuce.
  6. Fry the egg and put it on the rive before serving (it's optional and totally upto you)
