Oats Cutlet

Ingredients to make Oats Cutlet

  • 1 tsp jeera - to add in the cutlet
  • ginger - 1/ 2 piece - grated
  • Green chilli - 1 - take the seeds out
  • turmeric Powder - a pinch
  • Red chilli powder- 1/2 teaspoon
  • coriander powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • potatoes- 3
  • peas- 1 cup
  • carrot- 2 - half boiled and grated
  • coriander leaves - 6 leaves, cut into small pieces
  • oil - 1 tbsp
  • Oats - 2 cups - fry in a pan until comes golden brown
  • Bread crumbs - 2 slices of bread, grind it in a mixer. ( optional)

How to make Oats Cutlet

  1. First wash the vegetables and cut the vegetables in two halves ( potato and carrot).
  2. Heat water in a kadai, when the water starts boiling add in the potato, carrot, peas in it.
  3. When the carrot is half cooked, take the carrot out and let it cool. Grate the carrot and keep it aside.
  4. Take the boiled potatoes and peas out from kadai. Let it cool.
  5. Take a bowl, add in the grated carrot , smashed peas and potato. Add in the grated ginger, green chillies, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, chopped coriander leaves, jeera, oil, fried oats in it and make the cutlet. Keep them aside.
  6. Take 1 cup of oats in a separate bowl. Dip the cutlet in oats by covering both sides.
  7. You can also dip it in bread crumbs for crispy coating of the cutlet.
  8. Add oil in a pan, place the cutlets and fry it. When it turns golden brown take it out and serve it with fresh sliced onions and cucumber.

My Tip:

Before frying it in a pan, you can dip it in milk for a good taste, this is optional.
