ABOUT Tomato Chutney RECIPE

A lip smacking accompaniment to any meal.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 500 grams ripe red tomatoes
  2. 1/2 cup gur (or sugar)
  3. 1/2 teaspoon panch phoran
  4. 2 dry red chillies
  5. 1/4 teaspoon haldi powder
  6. 1/4 teaspoon salt
  7. 2 tablespoons mustard oil
  8. 2 tablespoons raisins
  9. 2 tablespoons broken cashew nuts

Instructions

  1. Wash and chop the tomatoes.
  2. Heat oil in the kadhai, add in the panch phoran and dry red chillies.
  3. Put in the tomatoes, stir it well and cook for a few minutes.
  4. Add salt, haldi, mix it well and cook for a minute. Now, add in the gur and mix it well.
  5. Add the raisins and the cashews. Cover and cook until the gur melts and the tomatoes are done.
