ABOUT Healthy Dim Sum With Left Over Dry Chilli Chicken Filling RECIPE

Dim sum are Chinese buns filled with any filling of your choice. This recipe here is inspired by the need for quick, simple and yummy food to satisfy the good food craving..!! Hope you love it!

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1/2 can coconut milk
  2. 1/2 can whole meal self raising flour
  3. 1/2 can all purpose self raising flour
  4. chilli chicken or filling of your choice
  5. salad of green onions, coriander leaves, red chillies to serve with
  6. sweet chilli, hoisin or soya sauce to go with

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix together the self raising flours and coconut milk. It will be a little sticky dough. Take it out on your working board, make a dough with your hands with sprinkling of some flour.
  2. When it forms a proper dough, make small dough balls approximately 8 from this amount of dough. Press the dough balls with your palms to spread out into a disc.
  3. Add a teaspoon of the filling or a little more onto the disc, bring the sides together to cover the filling and roll into a nice ball.
  4. Put these balls in double cupcake cases and steam them for 12-14 minutes. I did it in the bamboo steamer. Leave in the steamer for 5 minutes off the flame before opening and taking them out.
  5. Sprinkle some roasted sesame seeds while the buns are still moist on the surface. Garnish with some chopped red chillies and spring onion greens.
  6. Serve warm with green salad and sauce of your choice.
