Ingredients to make Whole Wheat Honey and Oatmeal Cookies

  • 1/2 cup - butter softened
  • 1/2 cup - granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup - honey
  • egg - 1
  • 1-1/2 cups - quick cooking rolled oats
  • 1 cup - whole wheat flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon - salt
  • 1 teaspoon - cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon - baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon - vanilla extract

How to make Whole Wheat Honey and Oatmeal Cookies

  1. Cream the butter and sugar until light and creamy.
  2. Add honey, egg and vanilla and beat till smooth.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together all the dry ingredients.
  4. With a spatula, mix in the dry ingredients until fully blended. Make sure no trace of flour is visible.
  5. Cover and chill the dough for at least 1 hr.
  6. Drop the batter on a lined cookie sheet with a scoop.
  7. Bake in a preheated at 180 - 200 degree celsius oven for 15 - 20 minutes or until evenly browned.
  8. Remove from oven and allow cookies to cool 2 to 3 minutes before removing from baking sheet. Store in a cool dry place in an airtight container.
