Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 1/2 cup dalia or fada
  2. 1/4 cup moong dal..u can take yellow moong dal or chilka moong dal also
  3. Mix vegetables of your choice like carrots , potatoes, tomatoes, onion, etc
  4. Water 2 cups
  5. 1 tbsp ginger chopped
  6. 1 tbsp Garlic chopped
  7. 1 tbsp chilli chopped
  8. Whole spices like cloves , dal chini, tej patta , kadi patta,
  9. 1tsp of mustard seeds, cumin seeds, each
  10. 1 tsp red chilli powder
  11. 1 tsp of dhaniya powder
  12. 1 tsp garam masala
  13. 1/2 tsp haldi ppwder
  14. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Rinse the dalia and moong dal properly..and soak them for 15 to 20 mins in warm water.keep aside.
  2. Wash and chop the mix vegetables.
  3. In a pressure cooker heat 1 tbsp of oil and mustard seeds, cumin seeds and whole spices.
  4. Once the spices are tempered add ginger garlic and chillies.
  5. Saut till its raw flavours go away.
  6. Add all the mix veggies. .
  7. Add dalia and dal mixture
  8. Add all the spices
  9. Mix well.
  10. Add water stir well.
  11. Close the lid of pressure cooker and cook for 7 to 10 mins I.e 5 whistles..
  12. Khichdi is ready to serve
