Urad daal and Suji fritters.

Ingredients to make Urad daal and Suji fritters.

  • Urad daal 1 cup.
  • Suji 1 tbsp
  • onion 1 big.
  • Zeera 1 tsp
  • ginger chopped fine 1 tsp
  • Black pepper corns ( whole 1/2 tsp or 1 tsp powdered )
  • Fresh coconut finely chopped 1 tbsp
  • Green chilli finely chopped 1 tsp
  • coriander leaves finely chopped 1 tbsp
  • salt to taste
  • curry leaves 5-6
  • oil for deep frying.

How to make Urad daal and Suji fritters.

  1. Soak urad daal in warm water for 40 minutes.
  2. Coarsely grind the daal and keep for 20 minutes.
  3. Chop the onions finely
  4. Add pepper corns, Ginger, salt, chopped onion, Curry leaves, Chilli, Coriander leaves, Chopped Coconut.
  5. Rub Zeera between two palms then add . Add suji and mix well.
  6. Heat oil in a pan. Add 1 tbsp oil to the batter. Now fry your fritters and enjoy with green chutney and tea.

My Tip:

Be careful while soaking and grinding daal. Do not add too much water. Adding Suji gives crispness.
