Chicken Ghee Pepper Roast

Ingredients to make Chicken Ghee Pepper Roast

  • 1/2 kg chicken
  • 2-3 tbsp ghee
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 2-3 tsp pepper powder (adjust as per your taste)
  • 1 large onion sliced
  • 3 long green chillies slit vertically
  • 2 sprigs curry leaves
  • salt

How to make Chicken Ghee Pepper Roast

  1. Clean the chicken and cook it with salt, turmeric and 1 tsp pepper powder. Add very little water. Cook for 4 to 5 whistles.
  2. Heat ghee in a kadai, add sliced onions, 1/2 tsp pepper powder and saute until it turns brown.
  3. Add slit green chillies, curry leaves and saute for a minute in medium flame.
  4. Now add the cooked chicken and add additional 1 tsp/remaining pepper powder if you like it to be spicy. Fry it until it gets roasted.

My Tip:

Ground the pepper powder fresh to get the strong aroma. Add ginger garlic paste after onions are fried. But it is optional. You may add it for an additional flavor.
