ABOUT Sabudana aloo tikki RECIPE

This delicious snack is a healthy option to prepare for your dinner party specially if you are fasting.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 2 cups - sabudana
  2. 4 - potatoes
  3. 1 inch ginger finely crushed/chopped
  4. 6 - green chillies finely chopped
  5. Oil or Ghee as required to fry
  6. Handful of coriander leaves chopped
  7. Sendha Namak/Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Wash the sabudana and let it soak for 30 minutes or so. You can also opt to soak them overnight.
  2. Boil the potatoes using a pressure cooker. Let it cook for 15-20 minutes or until 4 whistles blow. Remove and peel while still warm.
  3. Take a large bowl, put in the peeled potatoes and mash them.
  4. Add in the sabudana, ginger, chilies, coriander and sendha namak according to taste. Mix these ingredients well together.
  5. Heat required oil/ghee to fry in a kadhai/pan.
  6. Make tikki shapes of the sabudana-aloo mixture and deep fry these tikkis in hot ghee/oil.
  7. Drain on paper towels to absorb the excess ghee/oil.
