Chicken Momos

Ingredients to make Chicken Momos

  • For the chicken Filling:
  • 250 grams chicken - minced
  • 2 onions - finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon green chillies chopped
  • 1 tablespoon garlic chopped finely
  • 2 tablespoons spring onion greens chopped.
  • 1 tsp soya sauce
  • salt - to taste
  • 1/2 tsp vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons of refined oil
  • For the Dough
  • 1/12 cup maida
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • water as required

How to make Chicken Momos

  1. With the Maida, salt and water make a soft pliable dough cover and with a damp cloth and keep aside for some time.
  2. Mix all the ingredients together for the stuffing in a bowl.
  3. Heat oil in a wok and put the chicken stuffing mix. Saute till done and also dry..
  4. Remove from heat and cool.
  5. Divide the dough into portions. Either roll out individual small rounds or make one large round and cut circles with a cookie cutter.
  6. Take one round , place a teaspoon of the chicken filling and seal in a shape you desire. Either potli or may be a crescent like a gujiya.
  7. After you finish making all the momos, steam in a steamer for 10 minutes.
  8. Serve hot with home made red chilli garlic sauce or any sauce of your choice.

My Tip:

A special green chilli, garlic and vinegar chutney is commonly served with this.
