Curryleaves & Flaxseed Rice

Ingredients to make Curryleaves & Flaxseed Rice

  • 1 &1/2 cup cooked rice
  • salt to taste
  • To dry roast & powder
  • 1 tbsp flaxseed
  • 1/2 tsp bengal gram
  • 1/2 tsp split & dehusked black gram ( urad dal )
  • 1/4 cup of curry leaves
  • 2 dry red chillies
  • For tempering
  • 1 -2 tbsp clarified butter ( ghee )
  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  • 6 cashews
  • 1/4 tsp cumin
  • Pinch of asafoetida
  • 1 sprig of curry leaves

How to make Curryleaves & Flaxseed Rice

  1. Heat a pan and dry roast all the pluses in lowflame till it turns golden colour .
  2. Now add the curry leaves and switch off the flame and mix well . Let it rest in the same pan till it cools
  3. Once cooled grind it to a little coarse powder
  4. Heat a pan with clarified butter and add mustard seeds , cummin seeds and once it splutters
  5. Add Asafoetida ,curry leaves , salt and grinded powder and switch of the flame & mix well
  6. Add the cooked rice and mix well
  7. This can be made with left over rice also
