ABOUT Modaks with a twist RECIPE

Peanuts, coconut and water caltrop (singhara) twisted together for creating yummy modaks.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. 1 tbs - Ghee
  2. 1/2 cup - Peanuts
  3. Grated coconut - 1/2 cup
  4. 1 cup - water caltrop (Singhara) flour
  5. 1/2 cup - Jaggery
  6. Water as required
  7. 10 - 15 Alomnds & Raisins (As per taste)

Instructions

  1. Roast peanuts and then blend them to form a paste.
  2. Roast grated coconut and keep it aside.
  3. Heat ghee and roast the 'singhara' flour into it, add the peanut paste and roasted coconut mixture into it and mix well.
  4. In an another pan melt the jaggery, add water for making a solution. Cook till u get the thick texture and the water evaporates.
  5. Add the entire mixture into the jaggery pan and mix it well. Add almonds and raisins. Mix well.
  6. Shape them in modak shape and serve.
