Amla Delight

Ingredients to make Amla Delight

  • Fresh amla grated - 1cup
  • jaggery or Sugar or Honey- 1 and 1/2 cup
  • Extra virgin olive oil- 3 tbsp
  • melon seeds- 3 tbsp
  • rock salt - 1 tsp
  • pepper- 1 tsp

How to make Amla Delight

  1. Wash and pat dry amla
  2. Grate the amla
  3. In a heavy bottomed pan cook grated amla with sugar or jaggery on medium flame. Till amla gets tender and sugar or jaggery is properly dissolved.
  4. If using honey first steam amla for about 10 minutes and add honey after turning the flame off .
  5. Add melon seeds
  6. Add salt and pepper
  7. When mixture comes to room temperature add extra virgin olive oil.
  8. Store in glass jar

My Tip:

In this recipe, jaggery ,sugar or honey any sweetener can be used . Spread this amla delight on your toast or relish with your paratha or pack in your tiffin or carry along with your poori for your journey . Or have it after meals just like a mouth freshener or a dessert . Its without any harmful preservatives and can be stored for long as sugar and salt work like a preservative in this recipe .
