Chickpeas (chhole)cooked in gravy loaded with spinach

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Chhole/chickpeas 1cup soaked for 6-7hours
  2. Spinach puree 1cup
  3. Onions finely chopped 1/2cup
  4. Tomato puree 1cup
  5. Bay leaf 2
  6. Cloves 3
  7. Cumin seeds 1/2tsp
  8. Salt to taste
  9. Red chilli powder 1tsp
  10. Turmeric powder 1/2tsp
  11. Chhole masala 2tsp
  12. Curd 1tbsp
  13. Oil 2tbsp
  14. Ginger garlic paste 1tsp

Instructions

  1. Cook soaked chickpeas in enough water in cooker up to 6-7 whistle add salt with water to it
  2. When it is done, let the cooker cool itself. Open and keep the chickpeas /chhole aside
  3. For gravy take a deep pan add oil and alow it to heat
  4. Add jeera cloves bay leaf saute
  5. Add ginger garlic paste and onions
  6. Cook onions to golden brown then add tomato puree
  7. Add salt chilli powder turmeric powder chhole masala to it
  8. As oil comes out add spinach puree mix well
  9. Add chhole and curd to it. Cover the lid and cook on low flame
  10. Turn off the gas. Serve
