Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Tortillas-
  2. All purpose flour 1 1/2 cups.
  3. Salt a tsp
  4. Olive oil or any oil a tbsp
  5. Milk about 1/2 cup + water as needed to make a smooth dough
  6. Garlic yoghurt chutney -
  7. Yoghurt 100 gm
  8. Garlic cloves 3 to 4
  9. Salt to taste
  10. Olive oil or canola oil 1/2 cup
  11. Lemon juice a tbsp
  12. For the assembling - cucumber sliced, french fries, lettuce chopped and also some ketchup.
  13. Chicken -
  14. 200gm Boneless chicken cut into strips
  15. Salt to taste
  16. Cumin powder a tsp
  17. Hung curd about 3 tbsp
  18. Paprika or red chilli powder a tsp
  19. turmeric a pinch
  20. All spice powder or curry powder a tsp
  21. Olive oil 2 tbsp
  22. Tandoori masala a tsp ( just to give it an Indian tadka)
  23. Tahini Sauce-
  24. Sesame seeds roasted and powdered 3 tbsp
  25. Salt to taste
  26. Garlic mince a tsp
  27. Lemon juice a tbsp
  28. Water as needed to blend- about 3 to 4 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Make a smooth out of the ingredients listed under dough
  2. Set aside for atleast 30 mins.
  3. Roll into thin chapatis or rotis and do not roast much.
  4. Stack them up and keep them covered
  5. Prepare tahini and garlic yoghurt sauces well in advance.
  6. Blend all the ingredients listed under garlic sauce by adding oil little at a time until creamish texture is obtained.
  7. Make tahini sauce also by blending and adding little water at a time until it is thick.
  8. For the chicken filling now. Marinade the chicken with all the ingredients and leave it overnight in the refrigerator. Next morning just stir fry it until 7 to 8 mins. It will be done. Juicy and tender chicken strips are ready for the shawarma.
  9. Now for the assembling, do it as per your choice. Tahini first or garlic sauce first or vice-versa. You can assemble it just the way you want.
