Sambar Masala and Green Pea Pulao

Ingredients to make Sambar Masala and Green Pea Pulao

  • Leftover rice 2 to 3 cups
  • salt to taste
  • chilli flakes a tbsp
  • garlic mince a tbsp
  • Sambar masala 2 tbsp
  • garam masala a tsp
  • bay leaves 2 to 3
  • coriander for garnishing a handful
  • Green peas a cup boiled
  • caraway seeds a tsp
  • lemon juice a tbsp (optional) OR
  • Dry mango powder a tsp
  • oil 3 tbsp
  • onion 1 large chopped

How to make Sambar Masala and Green Pea Pulao

  1. Heat the oil and saute the onions.
  2. Add the minced garlic and all the masalas.
  3. After a minute, add the green peas.
  4. Stir fry all of these for about 3 to 4 mins
  5. Mix this with the rice.
  6. Cover and leave it on low flame for 5 mins just to reheat the rice.
  7. Garnish with coriander and serve hot with any pickle or as it is. It tastes equally yum.

My Tip:

You can very well use freshly boiled rice. You can increase the sambar powder quantity if you wish. You may also use green chillies and any other veggies of your choice. I served this with Priya Gongura pickle. Ideal for office or school lunch box.
