Flaxseeds and Black Currant Bread

Ingredients to make Flaxseeds and Black Currant Bread

  • 1 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 3 teaspoons flaxseeds (roasted)
  • 3 teaspoons dry black currants
  • 1 cup sour curd or buttermilk
  • 1/2 Cup butter
  • 2 spoons melted butter for rubbing.
  • 1/4 cup sugar powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 tbs instant dry yeast
  • 1 pinch salt

How to make Flaxseeds and Black Currant Bread

  1. Soak dry yeast in luke warm water with 2 spoons sugar.
  2. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees C
  3. In a big bowl add flour, salt, butter and rub it till flour resembles bread crumbs. Add baking soda, baking powder and yeast mix. Mix well and add buttermilk slowly . Knead it like a soft dough.
  4. Keep it with covered of soft wetty cloth for one hour. Nead again and keep again for 10 min.
  5. Now roll like a thick chappati. Sprinkle powdered sugar and flaxseeds. In one corner of the chapati add black currants and fold it in a roll.
  6. Cut the roll lengthwise from the middle ( not make two pieces) and leave the top end intact. Now weave the two parts till you reach the end. ( take one part and place it on top of the other and so on)
  7. Brush the bread with melted butter
  8. Put in a baking try. Bake for 30 minutes
  9. Cool it. Serve warm or cold
