Sticky rice is very popular in the North Eastern States of India, apart from the Asian countries. In Nagaland, we consume it in form of cooked rice or make roti and have with afternoon tea. So here is a recipe of sticky rice fried rice which most pan asia restaurant serves. I have made it my way. It is a simple recipe

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Sticky rice 1 cup
  2. Chicken 200 grams boneless cut into small cubes
  3. Onion 1 chopped finely
  4. Chilly flakes 1 tsp
  5. Garlic 1 tsp chopped
  6. Soya sauce 2 tsp
  7. Salt to taste
  8. Oil 4 Tsp
  9. Water 1 cup
  10. Spring Onion greens chopped for garnishing

Instructions

  1. Take the washed rice in a pressure cooker. Add water and pressure cook for 2-3 whistles. Let the pressure release by itself.
  2. Heat oil in a pan.
  3. Add the chicken, salt and saute on medium heat for around 10 mins.
  4. Add onion, chilly flakes, garlic and soya sauce and saute for about 5 mins.
  5. Add the sticky rice, toss well and saute for another 5 mins.
  6. Garnish with chopped Spring onion greens and serve.
