ABOUT Sweet Corn Pulav RECIPE

A very easy and tasty recipe. An all time favourite at home

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Basmati rice - 1 big glass ( washed and kept aside)
  2. Sweet Corn - 1 cup
  3. Onion - 2 thinly sliced
  4. Tomato - 1 chopped small
  5. Ginger -1 tspn chopped
  6. Green chilly - 2 slit
  7. Garam masala whole(adjust to taste)
  8. Fennel Seeds - 1/4 tsp
  9. Jeera - 1 tspn
  10. Pepper corns - 5 to 6
  11. Bay leaf - 1
  12. Cloves - 4
  13. Cinnamon - small piece
  14. Cardamom - 2
  15. Lemon juice - half lemon
  16. Salt to taste
  17. Oil - 2 tbspn
  18. Coriander leaves for garnish
  19. Water for cooking - 1 & 1/2 glass or double the quantity of rice

Instructions

  1. Wash the rice & soak for 15 minutes
  2. In a cooker put oil. put the whole garam masala and fry.
  3. Then add onion slices and then add chopped ginger and green chilly.
  4. Saute well for a few minutes
  5. Put chopped tomato. mix well then add sweet corn and saute well
  6. Put rice & fry for a few minutes on low to medium flame.
  7. Pour the measured water, salt & lemon juice. Give a nice stir
  8. Close the lid of the pressure cooker
  9. Let it cook on low to medium flame for about 1-2 whistles
  10. Turn off the gas and let it rest for some time.
  11. Before serving garnish with coriander leaves.
  12. Serve hot with raita, pickle & papad.
