Lemon Rice

Ingredients to make Lemon Rice

  • Cooked rice 1 cup
  • peanut 1 tbsp
  • raisins few
  • 1/4 tsp toor dal + chana dal
  • asafoetida a pinch
  • sambhar powder 1 tsp
  • red dry chilli 2
  • green chilli 2 chopped or whole
  • lemon juice 1 tbsp
  • chilli Powder 1/2 tsp
  • turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
  • curry leaves 10
  • fenugreek seeds , black mustard seeds and cumin seeds together 1/4 tsp
  • salt as per taste
  • ghee 1 tsp
  • oil 2 tsp
  • Garam masala a pinch

How to make Lemon Rice

  1. Cook rice and let it cooled down , don't over cook . Or you can use left over rice too
  2. Heat a kadai , put ghee , fry peanuts and raisins
  3. When they turn little brown keep aside
  4. In the same pan add oil
  5. Now add dry red chilli , cumin , fenugreek also add chana and toor dal
  6. Let them crackle
  7. Now add curry leaves and asafoetida
  8. Saute for a minute
  9. Add rice , also add turmeric powder , chilli powder , sambhar powder and garam masala .
  10. Now add peanuts and raisins
  11. Add salt and ghee
  12. Add lemon juice and switch off gas
  13. Your delicious , healthy , simple lemon rice is ready
