Ingredients to make Fusili Aglio Olio and a Warm Salad

  • The pasta:
  • 200g Fusili (you can use any other shape too)
  • 1 cup parsley, chopped
  • 1 tsp chilli flakes
  • 2 onions, chopped
  • 10 cloves of garlic peeled and chopped
  • 2-3tbsp Breadcrumbs or parmesan cheese
  • Lemon juice, salt, olive oil, pepper, dried herbs
  • olives (optional)
  • Salad (Julienne everything)
  • 1 onion
  • 2 carrots
  • Half a head of cabbage
  • 4-5 babycorn
  • Half red capsicum
  • Half yellow capsicum
  • Corn and olives and broccoli (optional)
  • Salt, lemon juice, balsamic vinegar

How to make Fusili Aglio Olio and a Warm Salad

  1. Boil pasta till Al dente.
  2. Heat olive oil in a wok. Add chilli flakes, dried herbs, garlic. Add parsley when the garlic is cooked.
  3. Add pasta when the parsley wilts.
  4. Add lemon juice, salt, pepper, breadcrumbs/parmesan and some more dried herbs.
  5. For the salad, heat olive oil in a shallow pan. On high heat, add all the vegetables. Cook for 3-4 minutes till they soften a bit. Add salt, lemon and a dash of balsamic vinegar.

My Tip:

You can experiment with the salad. Try capers, jalapeo, cottage cheese, whatever your child prefers.
