ABOUT Ginger/Garlic Masala Rice RECIPE

This is one of my quickest solution to the leftover rice. Do give it a try. You will love its subtle flavours.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Leftover rice 4 cups.
  2. Salt to taste
  3. Ginger garlic paste fresh 1 1/2 tbsp
  4. Chilli powder 1 tbsp
  5. Cumin seeds a tsp
  6. Onions 2 large finely sliced.
  7. Curry leaves a few.
  8. Ghee 2 Tbsp
  9. Coriander chopped a fistful

Instructions

  1. First thing to do is mix the rice with ginger garlic paste, salt and the chilli powder. Give it a good mix.
  2. Heat ghee and add the curry leaves and the cumin seeds.
  3. After done, add the sliced onions.
  4. Saute them well until light pink in colour and the raw smell disappears.
  5. Keep the flame on low to medium only.
  6. Finally add the rice to it.
  7. Mix thoroughly and cover with a lid.
  8. After 15 mins, you are ready to go.
  9. Garnish with coriander.
  10. Serve it with any salad or raita or chutney.
  11. Makes for an excellent lunch box idea too.
