Ingredients to make Curry Leaves Powder/ Karivepaku Podi

  • curry leaves -2 cups cleaned and dried
  • sesame seeds - 8tsp,
  • chickpea gram -2tsp,
  • Red chillies- 8,
  • tamarind -1/2marble size
  • Whole coriander seeds -1tsp,
  • fenugreek seeds- 1/4tsp
  • oil -2tsp,
  • salt as per taste.

How to make Curry Leaves Powder/ Karivepaku Podi

  1. Fry all the ingredients one by one except curry leaves.Grind it coarsely,
  2. Now fry the curry leaves till it all the moisture goes away and it becomes crisp. Now add this to the ground powder and grind it together adding salt. Remove in a plate and spread it.
  3. Let it cool and then use it.
  4. You can store this for 2 months. It is a good accompainment for idli,dosa,white rice ghee. You can make curry leaves rice with this powder.

My Tip:

Store it in air tight container. Have it in your meal daily. Mix it with steaming hot rice and ghee/seseame oil. It is heaven.
