Ingredients to make Sooji carrot cheela.

  • 1 cup sooji
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 teaspoon chopped coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon grated ginger.
  • 2to 3 spoon grated carrot.
  • 1/4 teaspoon ajwain
  • 2 tblsp grated cheese.
  • salt to taste
  • oil as required.
  • Pinch of haldi.

How to make Sooji carrot cheela.

  1. Take 1 cup fine suji cream of wheat in a bowl.Add 1 cup water.
  2. Mix very well and allow the batter to rest for 30 min .after 30 minute srava will absorb much of the water and will become very soft.After 30 min add the chopped onion,chopped carrot,grated ginger,chopped coriander leaves,grated cheese
  3. Mix very well and then add the spices 1/4 teaspoon haldi,1/4 teaspoon ajwain,salt to taste
  4. Add 1/4 cup water again and mix very well.batter should have a slightly thick consistency.heat a nonstick tawa spread a bit of oil in if
  5. Take a ladle of the batter .gently spread the batter on the pan to make small chilla better don't try to spread too much as the chillas will break
  6. Let the sooji chilla cook on a low to medium flame ..when the top of the chilla looks cooked then sprinkle some oil on the sides and top with the spoon it self.spread the oil all over.
  7. When the base has cooked and become light golden then flip and cook the other side.
  8. When the second side gets light golden or the onion in the chilla look golden or caramelized then remove the chilla .
  9. Serve sooji chillas with any sauce.

I made this many times, if we use matha or curd instead of water it will become more tasty and digestive.
