ABOUT Sweet 'n' Sour baked Chole (Chick peas) RECIPE

This is an amazing low calorie snack that can be spruced up as per one's palate.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Chick peas soaked overnight - 1 Cup
  2. Oil to fry (Preferably olive oil)
  3. Salt to taste
  4. Freshly ground pepper - 1 tsp (optional)
  5. Turmeric - 1 pinch (Optional I added it just for colour)
  6. Cumin powder - 1 tsp (optional)
  7. Chili powder - 1 tsp (optional)
  8. Honey/Maple Syrup - 1 & 1/2 tsp (Optional)
  9. baking soda - 1 pinch
  10. Fresh coriander and lime for garnishing
  11. Chat Masala - 1 tsp (Optional)

Instructions

  1. Pre heat the oven at 200°C.
  2. Boil the chickpea with salt and baking soda.
  3. Drain and keep aside to dry. Use a towel to dry them.
  4. In a pan, toss in the chickpeas.
  5. Add in all the spices with salt in the last.
  6. Lastly add the lime juice
  7. On a baking tray lay out the chickpea and bake in the pre heated oven for 20 - 30 minutes.
  8. Keep checking as all ovens vary in this aspect.
  9. When done either cool or have warm garnished with fresh corriander.
