Ingredients to make Kadi patta Tomato Roti

  • Kadi Patta/curry leaves a small bowl
  • 2 Paranthas /Rotis left over
  • 2 ripe big tomatoes
  • 1 tspn crushed garlic
  • 1/4 tspn turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder
  • 1tsp red chilli powder
  • salt to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp cumin whole
  • 1/4 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 1/3 tbsp oil
  • coriander leaves to garnish
  • 1 small chopped onion to garnish
  • 1-2 pieces of lemon (for juice)

How to make Kadi patta Tomato Roti

  1. Make small pieces of the parathas or roti left over
  2. Chop tomatoes fine
  3. Wash the curry leaves
  4. In a deep pot heat oil ,splutter whole cumin and mustard seeds
  5. Add crushed garlic and saute
  6. Add curry leaves now
  7. Add chopped tomatoes
  8. Add salt and turmeric to these curry leaves and tomatoes and mix well
  9. Add the red chilli powder and cumin powder and mix well
  10. Add the Roti pieces now
  11. Add a glass of water and mix well
  12. Cover cook till Roti mixes well and all of it softens
  13. Sprinkle corriander powder mix well cook on low heat for 5minutes
  14. Garnish with green coriander leaves
  15. Add chopped onions to and enjoy hot with lime juice squeezed on it

My Tip:

Can also do with fresh rotis Make pieces of roti as small if possible so they soften faster Add water and balance spices accordingly
